Job Overview

We are looking for a self motivated supervisor with a desire to work in a software environment and someone who has excellent people skills to join a busy Finance department. Based within the commercial operation side of the Finance function you will be playing a key role in ensuring sales orders are followed through. This will include having attention to detail and any required follow through necessary before the order is processed and complete.

Role Description

  • To provide strong leadership to the Sales Order Specialist processing team of 5 in the UK
  • Ensure that all orders are processed to Micro Focus standard terms, within agreed timescales and approved discount levels
  • Provide positive customer service and handle difficult and sensitive issues through excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Continuous review and streamlining of processes
  • Work closely with International and Asia Pac Sales teams
  • Handling escalated issues/queries regarding orders
  • Build close working relationships with all relevant departments including other areas within Finance, IT and Distribution

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve sales quotes, pricing and discounts
  • Raising all relevant paperwork (invoices, customs/export documents)
  • Continuous development of the team’s use of the various systems in place to improve efficiency of working practices
  • Sales Order Processing of product, maintenance and services orders
  • Training, coaching and development of staff
  • Process credit notes
  • Serial number management

Skills / Requirements

This position requires the following skills and experience:

  • Manage internal customer situations with tact and diplomacy – both internally and external
  • Proven experience of managing a team of between 4-8
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills – grade A at GCSE Maths preferred
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent customer focus
  • Be confident self-starter with a high level of self-motivation and the ability to build and motivate teams
  • Ability to meet deadlines, establish priorities and fulfil the demands of working with a busy environment
  • Have strong influencing, coaching and listening skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and people management capabilities
  • Be computer literate

The following experience will be beneficial but not essential:

  • Knowledge of software industry and revenue recognition
  • Exposure to an international business
  • Knowledge of Pivotal would be advantageous
  • Fluency in another European language may be of advantage
