Role Description

  • Responsible for the statutory account process for all UK Group companies (World Wide Head Office) and tax analysis preparation, working closely with external auditors and tax advisors throughout this process
  • Responsible for the financial integrity of India, including payments, payroll, accounts payable, local statutory and tax compliance. Also responsible for the provision of timely information to reallocate revenues and costs to the APAC region
  • Ownership of the worldwide management recharges process, implementing a robust efficient process to recharge these costs bi-annually. This involves working closely with other departments to establish correct allocation methods
  • Calculation of monthly worldwide transfer pricing including journal input, reconciliation and managing the invoice process. Dealing with transfer pricing queries as required
  • UK Country Manager reporting including monthly profit and loss accounts, credit control reports and ad-hoc support as required
  • Responsible for running the revaluation process on Sun 5 and reporting the foreign exchange gain/loss on a monthly basis. Monitoring intercompany exposure to mitigate FX risk within the head office companies
  • Working very closely with and supporting the UK Financial Controller with ad-hoc project work, including technical accounting projects and issues
  • Ongoing support in identifying efficiency and automation opportunities across all processes ensuring the systems are fully utilised
  • Support system related projects as required

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing workload to ensure all deadlines are met within weekly payment cycles, month-end close timetable and the annual external audit
  • Influencing and negotiating with internal and external business contacts to promote financial awareness and discipline and continuously drive forward improved financial control
  • Develop, interpret and present financial information to ensure compliance with financial controls and to aid decision-making up to Group FC level and, on occasion, to CFO
  • Proactively research innovative financials solutions and using a range of financial methodologies to address challenging and complex financial questions
  • To effectively manage operations risk in UK Finance and continually challenge the adequacy and effectiveness of controls to mitigate those risks

Skills / Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with a successful track record of achievement
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to challenge and influence at senior levels with integrity and fairness
  • Self motivated, professional, confident and have a pro-active approach to their work
  • Advanced PC Skills, in particular Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to inspire confidence and build relationships
  • A willingness to challenge the status quo and influence change
  • Ability to work to tight time scales and maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise time
